you can't have everything, where would you put it?

the west coast of every land mass is more relaxed and in tune with the natural world than the east. east coasts are a place for capital cities and industry. london, england. sydney, australia. new york, usa. dublin, eire. the examples are ongoing. west coasts are for romantics, quiet fishing villages, surfers and their boards. thus is the power of a daily sunset ritual, which captivates, slows, inspires and virtually meditates the populous of these westerly facing shores, in a way that a sunrise never does, due to it's inaccessable time slot. jim morrison was right. and so am i. this picture by ashley wood has nothing to do with this subject whatsoever.

mike carmichael. he and his wife have been painting this (the worlds largest ball of paint) since the seventies. i'm sure he should be some kind of hero to us, i'm just not sure how to justify it.
